Legacy of Life Hawaii✨

Legacy of Life Hawaii is the federally designated nonprofit organ procurement organization serving Hawaii. We work 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, to honor the gift of organ, eye, and tissue donation by facilitating lifesaving and healing transplants for patients in need. In addition to supporting donors, donor families, recipients, and healthcare partners, we are committed to educating our community about the importance of donation. Through school presentations, health fairs, workplace wellness events, community partnerships, and donor registration initiatives, we empower individuals to make informed decisions about organ, eye, and tissue donation and encourage them to share their wishes with their loved ones. By volunteering with Legacy of Life Hawaii, you are helping create resources that will inspire conversations, increase awareness, and ultimately help save and heal lives throughout Hawaii.

Volunteer Project: Donate Life Family Conversation Kit: Assemble Donate Life Family Conversation Kits that will be distributed at community events, health fairs, school presentations, workplace wellness programs, and donor registration drives across Hawaii. The goal of the kit is to help Hawaii residents make informed decisions about organ, eye, and tissue donation and encourage meaningful family conversations that ensure loved ones understand an individual's donation wishes. Each kit guides participants through four simple steps: Learn about organ, eye, and tissue donation; Decide about donor registration; Share their decision with loved ones; and Reflect through the Butterflies of Hope engagement activity. Volunteers will organize educational materials, prepare donor registration resources, assemble the Butterflies of Hope activity using pre-cut cardstock butterflies, and package complete kits that inspire meaningful conversations about the gift of life.
