North Hartford Farming Initiative 

Participate in the North Hartford Farming Initiative volunteer opportunity with Levo International. 

Project Description:

Levo’s mission is to empower people to end poverty and we use simplified hydroponics to do this. Last year, with the support of our community, we successfully transformed a vacant lot into a productive engagement hub that has provided employment for the community and can now produce 25,000 pounds of produce in North Hartford - one of the worst food deserts in the U.S. This year, we are expanding on our North Hartford Farming Initiative and we need your help! Volunteers can engage in the many components that go into building a hydroponic farm such as sanding and staining lumber, building hydroponic systems, supporting landscaping / beautification and the start of our seedling production. 

Wear shoes and clothes you don’t mind getting stained and dirty! Closed toe shoes only. We encourage you to bring work gloves and tools if you want to use your own.
